At National Geographic, Neil led the development of media and storytelling for two ambitious international conservation initiatives, Pristine Seas and the Okavango Wilderness Project, designing communications around their conservation goals and helping turn exploration and science into measurable impact.

Neil worked alongside founder Dr. Enric Sala from the program’s inception, designing and leading its media and storytelling as Pristine Seas grew into a global conservation initiative.

Neil was part of the team that conceived and built the Okavango Wilderness Project, shaping its media and storytelling around the project’s exploration, science, and conservation goals.
NEIL GELINAS
Neil Gelinas is an Emmy Award-winning director, producer, writer, cinematographer, and editor with more than two decades of experience in documentary filmmaking.
During 11 years at National Geographic, he worked across Africa, Asia, South America, remote islands, and the polar regions. His films include Into the Okavango, which he produced, directed, shot, and edited, and the Emmy-winning The Last Ice, which he produced and shot. He later collaborated with filmmaker Amy Berg on HBO’s The Case Against Adnan Syed and Netflix’s Dogs.
Today, through Pan Fried Media, Neil develops and creates character-driven documentary and branded films for production companies, organizations, foundations, and institutions across the United States and around the world.
